Kerri Simpson is a blues singer from Melbourne who has been performing in St Kilda venues since the early 1980’s.
Her album Confessin' the Blues was nominated for a 1999 ARIA Award for Best Blues & Roots Album.
In 2005 Simpson won Chain Australia Blues Music Awards for best female vocals.
Kerri Simpson formed blues/rock trio Opelousas in 2018 with Ali and Shorty, blending Ali's raw electric guitar and Kerri's vision for a powerful sound. Together, they create a swampy, foreboding sound influenced by their previous work, offering a fusion of blues, rock, and soulful intensity. Opelousas won Music Victoria Awards for best blues album in 2019 with Opelousified.
In 2024 Kerri Simpson was inducted into the Blues Music Victoria Hall of Fame.
