WOMEN IN MUSIC (ST KILDA)
This research project focuses on the many diverse and talented female singers/musicians who have played a key role in the Australian mainstream and underground music scene, from 1900 until today (2025).
There is also a spotlight on 30 contemporary female singers/musicians and their relationship with St Kilda and its many music venues.
This research project is part of the ROAR FEST event - a groundbreaking celebration of music, empowerment, and community - that will take place over International Women's Day Weekend: 8-9 March, 2025.
This project has been researched and presented by Melynda von Wayward on behalf of the City of Port Phillip - Live'n'Local.
Note: All efforts have been made to be as thorough as possible with this research, however due to the many and varied genres of music that exist, we could not include every individual in this project.
